GUY BERNARDO
1912 to 2007
The artists of Escondido miss Guy.
Born in Rochester, New York, Guy Bernardo considered himself a "Brush Manipulating Pigment Pusher".
He began by drawing on city sidewalks-probably the first graffiti artist in his hometown- using bricks and broken cupi doll fragments.
Majoring in art through his academic years, Guy supplemented his studies with instructions from Harold Bishop and Charles Braken. He also attended the Bevais Memorial Art School (RIT) and in Paris (Beau Artes).
Guy Bernardo was known for his westerns and landscape paintings done through the 40's and later. Bernardo Paintings hang in collections coast to coast.
